“Kapitänleutnant (Ing.) Grundmann produced decisive results on the 09.04.1940 through his total devotion to duty. On this day he and his landing detachment (consisting of a small assault group and elements of an R-Boat crew) seized the Norwegian naval strongpoint at Horten (located in the Oslo fjord). His energetic and swift conduct of operations ensured the capitulation of the powerful Norwegian garrison.”
