Major ROLSTAD escaped from NORWAY in 1941 and proceeded to the UNITED KINGDOM to rejoin the Royal Norwegian Army there. In 1943 he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Norwegian Military Mission to the Commander-in-Chief, Allied land Forces, charged with the liberation of NORWAY.
Major ROLSTAD, during his period of work in the Mission, has shown outstanding ability and his military knowledge, tact and co-operation have been very substantial factors in the successful planning and execution of the operations for the liberation of NORWAY.
Major ROLSTAD's high standard of conduct has been an exampple to all Allied officers with whom he has come into contact and he has proved himself a great comrade
