"On 13th November 1944 in a night attack against San Antonio as Commander of a mortar platoon, this officer went forward with the assault group. At the moment of breaking down enemy opposition in area Casola Piccolo to Casola Grande in direct contact with the enemy he directed the fire sp so effectively that the battalion accomplished its task with very small casualties. On 22 November 1944, in an attack against Monte Piano as commander of a mortar platoon at a forward observation post, with great danger to his personal safety and with great devotion he effectively directed the fire. Destroying enemy nests of resistance and clearing a path for the assault groups. Throughout the Italian campaign he has been an outstanding example of great daring and showed a thorough understanding of his duty as a soldier and has been an inspiration to his troops".
