"During the pursuit operations 16th and 17th April 1945, towards Medicina, at 14.00 hours as commander of an Self Propelled Troop, 2nd Lieutenant Starzeński showed great calmness and courage. At the moment when the enemy's fire had succeeded in stopping the attacking British tanks, he decided to continue the pursuit, thus drawing the armoured squadron after him. His outstanding courage and initiative led to the capture of Medicina. He was seriously wounded in this action".
