"During operations against the line of the River Senio near Riomo di Bagno, from 19th December 1944 to 5th January 1945 Captain Nazaruk was in charge of supply arrangements to the forward company's. The conditions of work were very difficult, due to excellent enemy observation and continuous rain . The supplies were carried on mules and by hand and all had to be done at night. Despite constant casualties in killed and wounded Captain Nazaruk each night personally went up to the forward company's and ascertained the requirements of the fighting troops. Thanks to his great conscientiousness and devotion to his work, there was no instance in these difficult ground conditions of the fighting troops ever being without rations or ammunition.

On the 16th April 1945, in the Battalion attack against units of 4th Parachute Division in area Canale di Medicina as a commander of a support company, he personally led a carrier platoon on a reconnaissance of the enemy's positions. The information he obtained had decisive effect on the capture of the Canal line and the establishment of a Bridgehead. This reconnaissance was carried out with great dash and drive and penetrated 2 Kilometres into the enemy lines, and was also crowned by the capture of approximately 50 POW's and 5 Spandaus".
