"Colonel WIERCIAK has been Head of the Polish Ordnance Services since it began to train in June 1941. Although British stores, particularly technical stores, were entirely new to 90 % of the Polish Corps, Col. WIERCIAK has succeeded in forming a service which is serving not only the Polish Corps but also British units which come under command from time to time.

His first experience with Polish Ordnance under battle conditions was at CASSINO, were, under his guidance and direction, the Service throughout the Corps carried out its work in a most efficient manner under extremely difficult conditions. Later, along the ADRIATIC Coast, with its long and difficult Lines of communication, and without Army Installations behind him, he kept all troops on the Eastern sector maintained with stores."
