" As Command Personnel Army Service Corps of 5 Kresowa Infantry Division Major Boczkowski commanded the Transport companies of his division a particularly difficult task during the Monte Cassino operations owing to the lack of roads and the fact that these roads were exposed to enemy observation and shelling. An extremely complicated machinery of jeeps, mules and porters was also involved, requiring very accurate timing of the transport columns.

Major Boczkowski by his skill in organisation and untiring energy overcame these problems and this contributed in no small measure to the success of his division."
