Biography

Cornelius William Kleynhans was married to Iris Nancy Dring from Louth, Lincolnshire.
He served with No. 207 Squadron RAF. Killed in a crash with Avro Lancaster Mk I, ED554, EM-Q, at the Kanaaldijk in Jisp, North Holland before or after an attack on Duisburg in Germany. The plane was shot down by Oberfeldwebel Heinz Vinke, 11. Staffel, Nachtjagdgeschwader 1, flying a Messerschmitt Bf 110 G-4, from airfield Bergen. Cornelius William Kleynhans reached the rank of Flight Sergeant.
