Biography

Flight Lieutenant James Bannon was on board the Avro Lancaster III, JB480, MG-N, when the plane was reported missing on November 24th, 1943 during a bomb mission over Berlin. The Avro Lancaster from No. 7 Squadron had started his mission on November 23rd, 1943 at 17.06 hrs from Oakington. On board were, besides Flight Lieutenant James Bannon also Flight Lieutenant Leslie James Allum, Flight Lieutenant Edwin Henry Blanks, Sergeant William John Davies, Flight Sergeant William Noel Kinsey, Flight Sergeant Frank Ronald Page and Sergeant Arthur John Stanton. All are missing in action since.
