Observation Post Futtsu

At the Fort of Futtsu, now part of the Futtsu park, was in World War II an emplacement of the Type 90 240 mm railway gun. This was the only railway gun in Japanese service and was used as a coastal battery as part of the defenses guarding the entrance to Tokyo Bay. In 1941 the gun was moved to Manchukuo.
For the near defense and operation of the gun, MG-bunkers, fire control bunkers and observation posts were built.
