Monument Battle of Prairie Grove

This memorial, the Rhea’s Mill chimney which was transferred to this location, commemorates the Battle of Prairie Grove.
The Battle of Prairie Grove took place on 7 December 1862 and resulted in a strategic Union victory. The Union lost 1,251 men (dead, wounded, missing of captured), the Confederates 1,317.
