128th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment Monument

This memorial commemorates the 128th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, involved in the Battle of Cedar Creek. Of the 310 men of the regiment, 105 were killed or wounded.
The Battle of Cedar Creek took place on 19 October 1864 when Confederate forces attacked by surprise. The battle resulted in a Union victory. The Union lost 5,665 men (dead, wounded, missing or captured), the Confederates 2,910 men.
