Memorial Battle of Berezina

This memorial in the Brilev Field, the place of crossing the Berezina, commemorates the Battle of Berezina.
The Battle of Berezina took place from 26 to 29 November 1812 during the retreat of the La Grande Armée of Napoleon at the Berezina (a river in Belarus). During the crossing of the river and in the battle, the French losses were 30,000 to 40,000 men (killed or wounded), the Russian losses were 6,000 to 10,000 men.
