Historic Wendover Airfield

Historic Wendover Airfield is a site which is dedicated to preserve the Second World War Army Air Force history. The airfield has dozens of original buildings from the Second World War and other buildings are reconstructed. The airfield is often used for airshows. The museum on the airfield shows many original artefacts and photographs.

Wendover Airfield was used by the 509th Composite Group. Here they were trained for a special mission: dropping the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs.
