Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay
This naval base was established in 1939 and is still operational. The base was attacked by Japanese planes on 7 December 1941. Hangar 1 (which was damaged in the attack) and five sea plane ramps were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
