Memorial Crew Hampden I P1340

Memorial for three crew members of Handley Page Hampden I P1340. Their aircraft crashed after hitting a barrage balloon. Pilot Sgt. E. J. Spencer bailed out and survived. The other three crew members are MIA.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF
Pilot Officer R.W. ROOTS
Sergeant A.C. KENDREW
Sergeant S.P. CONNELL

Killed with no known grave when their aircraft crshed into the north side of the Orweel Estuary on 4th June 1940.
