Memorial Semyon Patolichev

In the small park on the square of Patolichev there is a monument dedicated to Semyon Patolichev, after whom the square is named. Patolichev was born in 1879 in what was then the Gorokhovets District and went on to become a commander in the Red Army during the Russian Civil War, eventually dying in battle in Ukraine. This monument was unveiled in 1979 on the 100th anniversary of his birth and includes a bust of the commander and reliefs of soldiers. One of the sons of Semyon Patolichev - Nikolai - became the Minister of Foreign Trade of the USSR from 1958 to 1985.
