Wimpole Estate

Wimpole Estate was used as Arrington Military Hospital (163rd General Army Hospital) and B-17 bomber parking site, POW camp and a experimental 'fast track' teacher training college during the Second World War. The hospital was located near the Arrington gates.

After the Army Hospital left in 1946, British wartime evacuees from moved into the empty accommodation blocks of the Hospital.
