Jewish Hiding Place Tirgonu Iela Liepaja 22

In the celler of this building in Liepāja 11 Jews were hided for the Nazi’s during the German occupation of Latvia. They were helped by janitor Roberts Seduls and his wife Johanna. When Roberts was killed by a Red Army shell on 10 March 1945, his wife took over the care of the Jews, till the liberation on 10 March 1945. The couple was recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations on 2 December 1981.
