Jewish Cemetery Rezekne

After the arrival of the Germans in Rezekne on 3 July 1941 the next day the first execution of Jews took place. In August a mass-execution was carried out on the Jewish cemetery. Executions continued till September 1941 and took the lives of 3,219 victims according to a report of the local police.

On the cemetery two Holocaust monuments were erected: one in the second half of the 1940' and one in 1980.
