Fort Mason

Fort Mason was built in 1852. Later on it was changed to a army base and harbor. In the Second World War, it was the headquarters of the San Francisco Port of Embarkation, one of the embarkation ports for soldiers and supply. From this port 1,647,174 soldiers and 23,589,472 tons of supplies and equipment moved into the Pacific.
