Battery 243

Battery 243 was a part of Fort Miley, part of the harbor defense of San Francisco and was built in 1942-1943. The battery was operational until 1948, when it was deactivated. It was equipped with two 6" guns but these were mounted after the end of the Second World War.

Nowadays the battery is open to the public.
