Battery 247

Battery 247 (McKenzie Head) was a part of Fort Canby, which was part of the harbor defense of the Columbia and was built from 1943 to 1944. The battery was operational until 1947. It was equipped with two 6" guns.

Nowadays the battery is part of the Cape Disappointment State Park and can be visited.
