memory of those members of the British Colonial and Commonwealth Armed Forces and civilians who in the line of duty and for their country made the supreme sacrifice

The Second World War 1939-1945
The Java-Sumatra Insurrection 1945-1946
The Malaya Emergency 1948-1960
The Brunei Insurrection 1962-1963
The Borneo Indonesian Confrontation 1963-1966
thereafter

This plaque in in St. Thomas Peace Gardens commemorates the volunteers from Birmingham who fought in the International Brigades on the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War.
