Liberation Memorial Arad

This monument was inaugurated in 1960 and was made by sculptor Gavril Covalschi. It is dedicated to the Romanian soldiers that participated in the liberation of West Romania in 1944.

The concrete pedestal carries a bronze group of statues. The foreground pictures a soldier, the background an infantryman and a nountain hunter. The group is completed by a woman figure, dressed in traditional costume to represent Romania as a whole. In golden letters in Romanian the text "Glory to the Romanian soldiers who fought against fascism, for the liberation of the country" has been placed.
