Memorial 23 August 1914 Dinant

On Sunday 23 August 1914 Dinant was the stage of a real massacre and the town was pillaged. In total the Germans murdered 674 Belgian civilians, including women, children and elderly.
Hundred years later a memorial commemorating the victims was erected near the Capuchin Monastery. This monument was inaugurated on 23 August 2014 by King Philip and the authorities.
