War Memorial Hendaye

This monument (Monument aux Morts) of pink sandstone and bronze, commemorates the residents of Hendaye who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars and then in the wars in Indochina (1946-1954) and Algeria (1954-1962).

The statue depicts a weeping mother holding in her arms a dying front soldier from World War I.
