War Memorial Christ Church Redcar

A rood screen and roll of honour for those killed in the First World War.

To the glory of God and in grateful memory of the following who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1919 - The rood in this church was erected A.D. 1920. (names) Grant them, O Lord eternal rest.

Another plaque records that two of the dials of the church clock were given in memory of Hugh de Chastelai Casley. He was killed at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, during the First World War.

The south and west dials of this church clock have been given by Mr. and Mrs. Casley, in memory of their only son Lieut. Hugh de Chastelai Casley, 6th. Batt. A.P.W.O. Yorks Regt. who was killed in action at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli. 7th. August 1915, aged 28 years. "Pro pege et patria pugnans."
