Memorial Tank Battle Linnich

In November 1944 a heavy tank battle raged here as part of Operation Queen, the Americans tried to break through to the Rur and the Rhine.
After the war, the former enemies gathered here every year to commemorate the dead.

This memorial took place at the Hubertus cross, named after the battler from 1444.
This cross was damaged during the combat operations in 1944. This was not repaired as a warning for future generations.

Later a stone was placed here to commemorate. On this stone are all the army units that participated in this battle.
