Majuba Hill

The Battle of Majuba on this hill was the decisive battle of the First Boer War, which took place on 27 February 1881. The victory of the Boers marked the end of the war. At the battle, 92 British soldiers were killed, 134 were wounded and 59 were captured. On the Boer side, only one was killed (H. Bekker) and 7 were wounded, one of whom later (J. Groenewald) died from his wounds.
