Crash Site & Remains PBY Catalina A24-9 Call Sign VH-AFJ

PBY Catalina A24-9 was shot down as first Allied reconnaissance aircraft in New Guinea on 21 January 1942. It crashed at Yambo village, killing eight crew members. One crew member survived the crash.
