Museum Grebbelinie in het Vizier

At a barn of Farmstead "De Beek"* an information centre has been installed which depicts the battle for freedom as it has has been fought in the region Woudenberg, Scherpenzeel and Renswoude in the Second World War. The information shown is not only restricted to grown-ups but is also accessable for school children.

At the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation (2005) of the Netherlands a unique project has been realized. Thanks to the efforts of a large number of volunteers the ‘Grebbelinie’ (Dutch defense line in 1940) has been revived. Now it has been made possible to negotiate a trench and visit a pillbox and study it in detail.

A report on one of the activities on the farm you will find at the webpage:
- "Nederland Paraat" bij Hoeve "De Beek".

* The name of the farmstead has probably been derived from the rivulet at which it is situated.
