Bombed Monastery Troina

In Troina is a bombed monastery located which was destroyed during the battle of Troina. US 2nd Army Corps delivered a fierce battle in Troina between July 31st and August 6th 1943 and was an important battle for them. Parts of the 2nd Army Coprs where the 1st US Infantry Division and the 9th Infantry Division.
