Commonwealth War Grave Triaize

The Communal Cemetery of Triaize contains one Commonwealth grave. It belongs to W.J. Smith of the Royal Army Service Corps. He died on 17 June 1940 on board of RMS Lancastria which was sunk on the Atlantic coast during the evacuation of British and French troops from western France after the Battle of Dunkirk. He was 21 years old.
