Commonwealth War Cemetery Cambrai East

he Cambrai East military cemetery was made by the Germans during the First World War. They have laid tombs for the French, Commonwealth and German dead. At the end of the First World War, the Bavarian commander transferred the care and maintenance of the cemetery to the city by means of an inscription on the cemeteries.

On plots V and VI there are 69 graves from the battlefields east and south of the city, and on plot VII are the graves of Commonwealth prisoners.

The cemetery now contains 501 Commonwealth war graves of the First World War. 28 of the graves have not been identified, but special memorials have been erected for seven soldiers buried here.
