German War Cemetery Breuna

Just outside Breuna there are two war cemeteries (Kriegsgräberstätte). Those German and foreign fallen-in-war (Soviets, Polish, Estonian and Lithuanian dead) have been interred separated from each other. Both cemeteries were established in April 1945 by the Americans in order to bury the dead fallen in the counties Nordhessen and Thuringen. 490 German and 139 foreign dead have found their last resting place in Breuna.
