Fort O'Brien

Fort O'Brien (also known as Fort Machias) is a fort in Machias State Park, Machiasport, Maine that saw service in the American Revolution, War of 1812 and the American Civil War.
In the War of 1812, the British returned to Machias, destroying this fortification and burning its barracks in 1814. A five-gun battery was installed at the site in 1863, during the American Civil War, but saw no action.
