Information Sign Fort Chippawa

This historical marker tells about Fort Chippawa, which was located here. On July 5, 1813, an attack was carried out from this fort on the American Fort Schlosser and during the War of 1812 much was fought for the fort. In July 1814, Fort Chippawa was destroyed during the Battle of Chippawa.
