Brecha Grande Ciudad Rodrigo

Ciudad Rodrigo, "Brecha Grande" and commemorative plaques.

Reconstructed city walls which were blown up in January 1812 by the anglo-luso-germano army which stormed the city and liberated Ciudad Rodrigo from the napoleonic régime. Here, the "Brecha Grande" (Great Breach).
Two plaques have been affixed on the chemin de ronde, in 1910 and in 1987 ; two more on the inner face of the walls, in 2010 and in 2012.

Location : off Plaza de Herrasti, next to the Memorial to Julián Sánchez "El Charro".
