Obelisk 1818 (1815)

Obelisk unveiled in 1818 to mark the first public appearance of Crown Prince Ferdinand of Austria (1793 –1875), later Emperor of Austria (1835 to 1848).
Architect : Alois L. Pichl.

The four panels consist of two dedications, reading :
Franz I. dem Befreyer dem Wiederhersteller Dem Vater des Vaterlandes" on this side (front side), and 
"Oesterreichs tapferem Heere // Seinen beharrlichen Bundgenossen // Des treuen Maehren und Schlesiens Dank MDCCCXV" on the three other sides ; the date MDCCCXV being a 2003 addition.
