Canadian Veterans' Memorial

The Canadian Veterans' Memorial is located in Veterans' Green Park at, Waterloo, Ontario. It was sculpted by Timothy Paul Schmalz in 2006. The memorial depicts a long line of people in military dress leaning against each other as they come down a cloud-like bridge structure. In front of the bridge on solid ground is an aged veteran in a wheelchair, holding out a poppy. An explanation at the site says that "Using a multitude of figures, this memorial has captured every branch of the Canadian Armed Forces and through the use of historical dress and military gear represents every theatre of war that Canadians have served in, from past to present."
