Memorial War victims Sint-Corneliuskerk Gelrode

Commemorative plaque at the Sint-Corneliuskerk (Gelrode) for the war victims of both world wars.

This memorial site was erected just after the Second World War, partly on the initiative of the National Fighters Association of Belgium (NSB). It contains the names of the civilians of Gelrode who were killed by German troops from World War I, the fallen soldiers during that war and the civilian casualties of World War II. A smaller one was later placed under the large plate in memory of the chairman of the local section of the NSB, Frederic Gezel (1909-1986).

The simple plaque is made of hard stone. A bronze decorative plate of the famous bronze foundry Pascal Norga was applied to this.
