Chaplain of the Foreign Legion
General chaplain of internment camps
Deported and murdered in Mauthausen camp
Decorated posthumously with the Resistance Medal

and his wife
Simone née LEVY (1911 - 1944)
Evicted and murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau camp
Decorated posthumously with the Croix de Guerre with Silver Star
This plaque of their memory was jointly produced by
the Jewish community of Mulhouse and the city of Mulhouse to honor
the exemplary behavior of this couple in times of peace
as of war, which has saved many lives.
