Belgian War Graves Houtem

The cemetery in Houtem contains the graves of military victims of the First and Second World War.

There is the grave of Lieutenant General Félix Wielemans who died at Houtem on 5 January 1917.
Lieutenant General Félix Wielemans was Chief of Staff of the Belgian Army from 1915 until his death. On his death from Spanish flu on 5 January 1917, he was buried in the cemetery of Houtem, where the Belgian army provided a grave monument.
