Memorial Belgian and French War Victims

In front of the Palais Provincial is a memorial to the First World War.

In the center we see a stained glass window and beautiful ironwork decorated with the coats of arms.

To the left under the coat of arms of Belgium hangs a commemorative plaque:
'The warriors and deportees from Arlon
1914-1918
To their comrades
who died for the fatherland ", followed by 88 names

Fighters: 14 names - Deported: 25 names - Executed: 3 names

To the right under the coat of arms of France we read:
In memory of the 10,000 heroic soldiers of France
gloriously fallen
in Belgian Luxembourg
for the defense of the violated law and protection
of our independence

August 22 and 23, 1914
The 4th French Army commanded by General De Langle de Cary
Held under control by the 4th and 5th German armies at the front
Ethe-Virton - 2nd and 4th Army Corps
Rossignol - Neufchâteau - Colonial Corps - 12th and 17th Army Corps
