Belgian War Graves Wakken

The cemetery of Dentergem contains a Belgian burial of the Second World War. It’s the grave of DE COCK Maurice, fallen at Koekelare on 27 May 1940
There is also a tombstone in memory of BAECKELANDT Georges, died in the concentration camp of Dachau (G) in 1945 and missing.

The churchyard of Wakken contains the graves of civilian victims of the Second World War. These are the graves of HOSTE Madeleine, DEBELS Maria and VERBEKE Yvonne who died on 11 May 1944, as a result of the explosion of a discharged fuel tank of an allied airplane.
