German Bunkers Harlingen

In the English Garden is a German bunker situated which was used between 1940 and 1945 as a part of the Atlantikwall. It is a Commandpost from where the Germans could control the Frisian coastal defence.

The bunker itself is twenty meters long and five meters wide. When the English Garden was newly landscaped in 2009 the bunker was visible for a short period. Nowadays only three Tobruk's are visible but they are all filled up with concrete.
