Memorial Maquis Bir-Hakeim

This memorial commemorates the Battle of La Parade (located at the Causse Méjean in the Lozère), on 28 May 1944, in which a complete resistance groep of the Maquis Bir-Hakeim was destroyed. In the battle, 34 members of the resistance were killed. The 27 surviving members of the resistance were all captured. One day later, all were executed in Mende.
