War Memorial Comblain-au-Pont

Commemorative plates to the right of the war memorial at Comblain-au-Pont to remember the military and the civilian victims of the First and the Second World War. A plaque commemorates the soldiers of the 3rd Regiment Chasseurs Ardennes who fell at Comblain-au-Pont on 11 May 1940. It concerns Second Lieutenant GERARD Alfred and soldier THERASSE Gaston.

The memorial tree in Comblain-au-Pont was planted in 2018 in recognition of the end of the First World War on 11 November 1918.

A plaque is in memory of Priest Joseph PEETERS, who was sentenced to death by the German occupier for acts of resistance and espionage. He was executed in Liège on 31 August 1943.

Priest PEETERS is buried in the cemetery in Comblain-au-Pont.
