War Memorial Chastre

Commemorative plate on the facade of the church in Chastre to remember the military and the civilian victims of the First World War.
An identical plaque is located on the facades of the churches in Blanmont and Villeroux.

The names on the monument:
Soldiers: ALEXANDRE Georges, Münster (G) 29 January 1915; COLSON Jules, Calais (F) 19 January 1915 ; DAIX Joseph, Haacht 11 September 1914 ; DUBOIS Jules ; LARDINOIS Henri, Brugge 28 October 1918; LECOCQ Désiré, Avon-les-Roches (F) 22 May 1917; LORGE Léon, Ramskapelle, 26 October 1914;
Civilians: GRUSELLE Joseph; ROMAIN Auguste.

The text on the memorial: "1940-1945 / AUX HEROS ET MARTYRS / MORTS POUR LEUR PATRIE".

The plaque also commemorates 27 French soldiers who died on the territory of the commune, Chastre, Villeroux and Blanmont in the Second World War.
"A LA MEMOIRE DES 27 SOLDATS FRANÇAIS TOMBES / GLORY SEASON POUR LA DEFENSE DE NOTRE TERRI- / TOIRE. LA COMMUNE DE CHASTRE-VILLEROUX-BLANMONT / RECONNAISSANTE".

At the bottom of the monument is a plaque of the veterans of the French Regiment 110th R.I. in honor of the Belgian soldiers.
